I hope you got a laugh from my post this morning. I personally needed the extra laugh today.
Not sure if you noticed, but it was posted at 4 am. I woke up around 3:30 am and just couldn’t get back to sleep.
I had an ultrasound appointment this afternoon which required an 8-hour fast. That meant no food OR drink from 5:30 am until after 1:30 pm. Because my doctor ordered the tests ASAP, I couldn’t wait for a more convenient, less torturous, morning appointment.
When I awoke at 3:30 am, I think it was my body telling me to get up and eat before it was too late — something comforting, satisfying and warm. Smart body I have.
On the menu was an old favorite
Hot Egg White Oats topped with Peanut Butter. Delicious.
I didn’t think it would be a good idea to work out this morning so I spent a few hours at home. I read, took a long bath, did some blog work, and just relaxed until it was time for work.
Of course my appointment ran WAY late. Is it even safe to make people go that long without food? When I left I was in that almost-raging-lunatic state. I wanted something quick but guilt-free, so I swung by Starbucks for a smoothie.
Back at home I had a coffee and played with the pups before taking Livy for a run.
It’s been a while since I ran and it felt amazing to hit the pavement. We only ran a mile but it still gave me that surge of energy I only get from running.
Now off to cook dinner and catch up on all the pre-Olympia hype. More in that tomorrow!
Q: Have you had smoothies from Starbucks? What do you think? Maybe I’m a smoothie snob now that I’ve been getting them at the gym and they’re SO good there!
